DRDO Develops Safety Systems For Paratroopers

Covert operations are a risky affair and in a bid to ensure safety of the Armed Personnel  Involved in high-risk operations, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has already sold over 700 units Combat Free Fall (CFF) systems to the Army. The Department of Life Sciences developed the system through their Defence Bioengineering and Electro-medical Laboratory (DEBEL) in Bangalore. Speaking to media persons recently on the new technologies being developed by the laboratory, Chief Controller (Research and Development) Mr W Selvamurthy said the new CFF system would assist paratroopers undertaking jumps from altitudes from over 30,000 feet as part of their covert operations. The laboratories are now expecting thousands of more orders from the Forces.
