
INSTRUCTIONS AND guidElines for authors:
GENERAL
Initial submission must be in doc or docx file including tracings/photographs. Manuscript should be neatly typed
in 1.5 spacing and single column format. Hand written manuscripts are not acceptable. The accompanying
letters must state that the paper had not been published previously or submitted for publication elsewhere and
the author/s had/ have the required clearances from the institution/s to which the author/s belong.
CATEGORY OF SUBMISSION
Invited Papers
The Editorial Board from time to time invite papers on topic of interest and relevance from experts and
leading personalities and shall not exceed 10 pages (A-4 size).
Full Length Papers
Should comply with the structural guidelines and should not exceed 12 pages A.4 size pages..
Technical Notes
A Technical Note shall not exceed 8 pages (A-4 size)
Review Paper
A Review Paper shall not exceed 10 pages (A-4 size)
Student Paper
Student Paper is to be based on Thesis/Projects of Post graduate studies. It shall not exceed 6 pages
(A-4 size)
Product Review
Product Review by competent person/s shall not exceed 4 pages (A-4 size) including photographs/
graphs.
Book Review
Book Review can be by any competent person in the field in which the book is written and shall not
exceed 2 pages (A-4 size). A copy of the book should also be submitted along with the
review.
GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS
Title
Title should be kept short and concise.
Author's Names and Afflilations:
Names should be presented in the order the authors want them to appear on the published paper. Each author's organisation to which they are associated should be included with accompanying address and Email.
Abstract:
A single paragraph abstract of around 150 words which summarises the paper and contains noreferences.
Nomenclature:
A list of all symbols used in the text and figures, whether familiar or not, should be given in alphabetical order with, for example, c before C and all English letters listed before Greek symbols. Subscripts and superscripts should be listed separately where possible. SI units should be used throughout.
MAIN TEXT & Introduction:
Discuss the raison d’etre of the work, including previous work by others and how the work being presented aims to advance or complements this.
Presentation and discussion of results
Tables of results, numbered in order, should be referred to here and should include only the main results. Errors should be considered an important part of any analysis.
Equations:
Equations must be neatly typed and numbered in brackets (1). Each equation should be produced electronically in Word Preferably using Mathtype. Variables should be in italics. Constants should be in plain text. Vectors and matrices should be in plain text. Cos, Sin, Tan should be in plain text.
Conclusions:
This section should be very concise and bullet points are recommended for clarity. The degree to which the aims have been achieved along with contribution made should be portrayed clearly to the reader.
Suggestions for future work or work in progress are encouraged.
References:
References should be numbered sequentially in the text as they occur. For Example, most commonly for papers (1) reports (2) and book (3)

Appendices:
If no suitable reference is available appendices may be used to clarify certain points, such as a step in the theoretical analysis.
Figures:
All figures must be provided by the author(s) and must be included with the initial manuscript. Hand drawings should be avoided. All figures should be numbered and given captions. References to figures in the text should be referred to as; Fig.1, Figs. 2 and 3 or Figure 1 if at the start of a sentence. Photographs, Graphs, tables, charts should be provided electronically and be scanned at 300dpi. Figures and photos are accepted only on high resolution (minimum 300dpi) and in JPEG / PDF format.
Acceptance:
Once a paper is accepted after review process the authors will be invited to send final version of the text in doc/ docx file, along with one hardcopy of the paper. For computer generated figures/photographs only those with minimum of 300 dpi / JPG format.. Once the paper is accepted for publication, the author should sign the Declaration Form and mail to the Journal Office. The author/s need to fill, sign send back the declaration form.
REPRINTS:
On receipt of acceptance letter the author/s can place order for up to 25 copies of reprints along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 2500/- or US $ 100/- drawn in favour of "Journal Office, The Aeronautical Society of India". The reprints will be sent to the author/s along with a complimentary copy of the Journal upon publication of the paper.
CONDITIONS OF PUBLICATION:
Full Length Paper, Technical Note, Review Paper, Student Paper, Product Review and Book Review will be accepted for publication only after all the terms and conditions are satisfactorily met by the author/s. No material published in the Journal of Aerospace Sciences and Technologies shall be taken to represent the opinion of the Aeronautical Society of India. No part or whole of any paper published in the Journal shall be reproduced without the written permission from the publisher.
