International aerospace exhibition opens in Berlin

The International Aerospace Exhibition and Conference ILA attracted around a quarter of a million visitors on its new location in Berlin-Schoenefeld. Europe’s leading air show featured more than 1.200 exhibitors from 46 countries displaying the latest technology advances and offering an overview of aviation history.  The civil aviation industry was doing very well with a good order backlog in civil aircraft and helicopter production.. 2011 was a record year for many in the aviation industry. A slowdown of the economy is expected though.  More a third of the exhibition space was taken up by the military; on display for example the A400M, the world’s most advanced military airlifter. Poland, this year’s partner country, had its air force present a venturous show. ILA 2012 Berlin Air Show was a success, all agreed on its new location right next to the site were the German capital’s new airport is now scheduled to open in October next year.
