Annadurai to head ISRO satellite centre

Mayilsamy Annadurai, who led two of the country’s much celebrated space projects — the Mars mission and the Chandrayaan-1 — is the new Director of ISRO Satellite Centre, Bengaluru. An ISRO release said he took charge at ISAC, a lead centre of the space agency, on April 1 from S.K. Shivakumar, who retired on March 31. A Karnataka Rajyotsava awardee, Mr. Annadurai is ISRO Outstanding Scientist and was Programme Director, Indian Remote Sensing Satellites and Small Satellite Systems, at the time of his promotion. Located on the old HAL airport road, ISAC assembles communications and Earth observation satellites.
